Hi, I’m John.
I’ve always been the kind of person who needs to take things apart, figure out how they work, and put them back together — better. That curiosity has shaped both my career in IT and my hobbies outside of work.
By day, I’m a Network & Infrastructure Administrator, working hands-on with enterprise networks, servers, and security systems. I thrive on solving complex problems, whether it’s building out VLANs, tuning firewalls, or untangling a stubborn routing issue.
By night (and on weekends), you’ll usually find me:
- Wrenching on cars — I love precision builds that balance performance and drivability. Whether it’s dialing in suspension or chasing the perfect exhaust note, it’s as much about the process as the result.
- Hitting the trails on my mountain bike — Nothing beats the challenge of technical terrain and the reward of a great downhill run.
- Experimenting in my homelab — Firewalls, virtualization, automation — I’m constantly testing new setups to learn and stay ahead in tech.
- Exploring gear and gadgets — If it’s got a chipset, a drivetrain, or a torque spec, I probably want to learn about it.
For me, the through-line is building, optimizing, and making things work better — whether that’s a core switch stack, a server cluster, a mountain bike, or a track car.
If you share those interests or have a project that needs a hands-on, detail-oriented approach, we’ll probably get along just fine.
